Take the My Way tablet as soon as possible and not more than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse, a known or suspected contraceptive failure or a sexual attack. If you use it as directed, your chances of getting pregnant will be reduced by as much as 89%.
My Way is one pill with levonorgestrel, a hormone that has been used in many birth control pills for over 35 years. My Way contains a higher dose of levonorgestrel than birth control pills, but works in a similar way to prevent pregnancy. It works mainly by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary. It is possible that My Way may also work by preventing fertilization of an egg (the uniting of sperm with the egg) or by preventing attachment (implantation) to the uterus (womb).
If you are already pregnant (because it will not work)
My Way should not be used if you are allergic to levonorgestrel or any other ingredients in My Way. (You may want to show your doctor the ingredients in My Way to be sure it is right for you.)
For regular birth control
Most women will have their next menstrual period at the expected time or within a week of the expected time. If your menstrual period is delayed beyond 1 week, you may be pregnant. You should get a pregnancy test and follow up with your healthcare professional.
